Summer's Play

Summer is on the left in all of the photos.
This is proof that Summer is an
outstanding actress!  :)  Not only did
she have to be a cheerleader, but
she had to be a stuck up, rude, and
mean teenage girl.  As you all know,
that couldn't be farther from the truth.
At the beginning of the play, all of the
cast members arrive as if they are heading to
the prom.  She stayed in character the whole
time...rude, boy crazy, and would only
respond if you called her by her characters
name. Her 'boyfriend' was pretty cute.  :)
  Curtain call
Notice the sign change in this photo and the next.
The first night was pretty crude.  The dean
happened to attend and she made them
change a lot of it, including the name of the
high school.  It was Wanaget High.
Summer's cheer and dance were definitely
the best parts.  Unfortunately, because
it was such a lame play, she may have lost
her drama spark, which makes me so sad.
I hope they pick some classics soon
so she has the desire to return.
We shall see.  No matter what,
I was so proud of her!

New patio set

I just ordered this today. I can't wait for it to get here so we can enjoy the view of our beautiful green grass. :) I don't miss the desert landscaping. We have a tiny patio, so I had to plan accordingly. I picked up an additional chair as well. After all, we are a family of 5.

Awesome 80's Prom

Summer was pretty darn amazing. Here she is in her big dance/cheer scene. She was worried it was too sexy, but, other than the lighting while she's changing, I think it's cute. For my non-cheerleader, this proves she's a great actress. :) She's on the left.

Cover the Night KONY 2012

I don't care if you agree or not,
but we enjoyed the message being taught
in the KONY 2012 video.  My then 14
year old daughter, simply wrote the word
'Inspiring' on her Facebook wall with
a link to the video.
Summer and Miranda came straight from their play
Compassion, and a little bit of team work
brought us together to "Cover the Night'
tonight.  It was fun running into other groups out
doing the same thing.  The plan was to canvas cities
around the world at sundown on April 20th.
We did our part and it felt good.
We had fun and we hope to do
more things to help others in the future.
I'm proud of my kids tonight, and every night!
Did your town get 'covered'???

Provo Beach Resort

Grammy and Pops
The day before Easter, we spent the day being
spoiled at Provo Beach Resort.
Summer
My sister gave Summer and Uncle Brad
an hour pass to the FloRider.  Of course
Zane and Tanner wanted to join in.
 Zane
 Tanner
 Uncle Brad
 Ty
The other kids took their turn on the
ropes course that is situated high
above the ground.  Ty had rope burns on
his neck afterwards, but he loved
it and said it was well worth it!
 Ellie
 Sydney
Max may have been too little for the
FloRider and the ropes course,
but he made due!  :)

On the road....finally!

 Since moving here in November,
we haven't been able to hit the road
and make some much-awaited road trips.
Plans changed at Easter, and instead of
heading on the 19 hr. drive to my parents,
we shortened it by half to go to Utah.
 The best part....
road trips around here
lead you through Yellowstone!!!
 These bison were just chillin'
on the road as we approached.  It's
a pretty cool feeling to be an arms
distance away from these massive
creatures.  I must say, it was a thrill!
The biggest thrill of all though is having
this little lady behind the wheel.  Yep,
that was my 14 11/12 year old making
her way to Utah!

Almost Easter

We're getting ready for the Easter Bunny's visit. My sisters looked so cute cuddling with their babies reading goodnight Easter books. We can't wait for Easter morning.

1...2...3...Surprise!!!

Birthdays around here go 1,2,3.
First, we had Ty's on March 18th.
Notice Syd's cake decorating skills  :)
Then Jason's falls one week later
on March 15th.
Skip a week, then you have Summer's.
Since hers falls on Easter this year,
we decided to throw a surprise
party for her tonight.
Syd, Miranda, Kallie,  Julia, Summer, Eva, Sam, and Joe
She came home from getting
her drivers permit (big enough news, right!?!),
to find a house full of her friends ready to
help her celebrate her 15th birthday...even if
it was 5 days early.  Happy Birthday!!!
