Photo Booths!

Photo Booths are just FUN! Jason's
good friends Jeff got married this summer
and they had a photo booth at their reception.
It printed 2 copies (one for the guest and one
for a photo album for the bride and groom).
Genius is all I can
say about that!

They had a box of props, hats, glasses...
can you say awesome?!?
Jason and I decided on a plan before hand.
1st photo: silly
2nd photo: mushy, kissy, kissy
3rd photo: silly
4th photo: smiling

Who here followed the rules in #4?
At the beginning of the summer the kids
and I found a photo booth at the mall in
Southern California. They thought it was
fun, although Ty looks a bit constipated
in a few of the pictures. :0)
Here's your assignment:
Go find yourselves a photo booth and
then share them with the world!

Stewart Reunion

We had a wonderful weekend at the
Stewart Reunion. It was held at the Stewart
cabin and we were BUSY, Busy, Busy!

Ty never left the seat of the four-wheeler.
At 4 years old, he can now drive it (other
than shifting) like a pro. His 12 year old
sister, on the other hand, ran me off the
road! I worry about that girl and her
driving skills. She only has 4 more years
to get this down....or no car for her! :0)

Saturday was designated hike day and when
we pulled into the parking lot for the trail we
were doing, it started POURING down rain!
8 kids and 1 fun movie helped pass the time.
Don't they look comfy while crammed into
the back and watching Madagascar 2?!?

We eventually did get to hike and it was great!
That night Sydney got to entertain everyone
with her beautiful voice. I'm so glad she got
that talent, since I WASN'T blessed in that area!

Since Tug's death 4 years ago, we have been
itching for another horse. Grandad was able to
get a loaner (a cousins horse) for the month.
Low Rider is his name and boy was he loved!
Summer still misses Tug, but Low Rider helped
fill that void for all of us. It was a great reunion!

We're back!

We are back and it was fantastic!
Everyone fell in love with Summer.
She was truly the life of the party!!!
She made good friends. Shipley and
Taryn were adorable and I know they
will make great YCL's one day!

They went Snipe Hunting
(thus the toothpaste on their faces).
They caught 2 and only
two 1st years cried. :0)

Repelling was our High Adventure Activity
and it was amazing! Summer was the very
first one to go and she made it look so easy.
Unfortunately, I followed closely behind
and found myself hanging upside down over
the side of the cliff! It made for a good laugh!!!

It was a pretty decent drop and Summer
went back for more! I didn't!!!! :0)

We had a fun dance party until 2:30 in the
morning on the last night. Those girls were
adorable! Who knew they were such good
dancers, even if their pants were pulled
up too high! They are so funny.

Off to Girls Camp!

Summer and I leave in the morning
for Girls Camp. We are both really excited.
I cannot believe she is 12 and that she gets to
go this year! Time really flies. I was talking
to Marie (my mother-in-law) and she was telling
me how she remembers things she did at camp.
You truly do make lifelong memories there and
I cannot wait to watch Summer grow through
this amazing experience. Hopefully she will make
some amazing friends there, too. I'm sure she will!
The theme this year is 'The Quest'. I have
to give a devotional on 'The Quest for the
Kingdom' so I made each one of my YCL's
a sandpaper sandcastle. They are framed with
their names on them. I found the basic idea
in Family Fun Magazine. I added some shoe
polish to age them a bit, and a frame, now they
are ready for the giving. Cute, right!?!

We are leaving candy treats
on all the campers bunks.
Here are our cheesy handouts:

This one is, obviously,
left with Laffy Taffy's!

Can you guess? Tootsie Pops!
And Hot Tamales!
There's one more that I am too
embarrassed to share. You'll have
to ask me about it sometime. Let's
just say, it involves Renaissance
Speech. Enough said!

C-ya in a few days!!!

Aunt Becky, this one's for you!

It was about time, I'll admit! How cute and grown up does he
look with this hair cut. He thought
it was cool that he gets to put gel in
his hair like his cousin Zane. I cannot
believe how much he looks like his dad!!!

Notice the white forehead from lack of sun exposure!

Are you ready for it?

I want to share my new recipe for
Cilantro Salsa with all of you. I don't
know if you have ever tried Baja Fresh's
Salsa, but that is what I was shooting for
when I created this recipe. In my humble
opinion, IT IS AWESOME!!! That is why
I have chosen to call it Salsa Cielo,
Salsa Heaven!!!
Salsa Cielo
1 can Rotel (I used mild)
1 can diced peeled tomatoes
2 Tbsp. olive oil
dash of black pepper
dash of salt
1 Tbsp. of red pepper flakes (more if desired)
3 cloves minced garlic
1 bunch of cilantro (leaves only, no stems)
*************************************
Add everything except the cilantro into your
Cuisinart and pulse until the consistency
you prefer. Add cilantro leaves and pulse
a few times until they are well chopped.
Store in an air tight container in the
fridge. Best if eaten within 3 days.
My family gives this salsa 2 thumbs up.
Trust me, I hate tomatoes and regular
salsa, but this is divine! ENJOY!!!

Hot Weather...Cold Water!

What do you do when it is hot, you are
7 hours from your favorite beach, you
have no pool, and you are bored?
You start a water fight, of course!
Big cups come in handy to douse
your sisters. When all else fails...

You can always douse yourself!!!
