How cute is this!?!

I was putting away laundry this
morning and when I walked in
Sydney's room, this is what I found!
I can safely say that Nikki (on the right)
was the best purchase my mom has ever
made. In school, Syd had to write a list of 25
things she would pack in an emergency &
Nikki was at the top of her list. Luckily,
Summer has an American Girl Doll too, so
Nikki has a buddy to read books with and
stay busy while Sydney is at school!
I am sure Nikki will be joining us on our
trip to Washington DC next month!
2nd cute thing of the day:
Our dog is just like me! She is a total
wimp in the cold. You can always find her
in any sliver of sunlight she can find....even on
the rocks! Burrr...that sun sure feels good!

Photo Tag!

Sarah tagged me with this photo
challenge and how could I refuse?
I've been instructed to post the
6th photo from the 6th folder in
my photo archives. it is!

This photo is horrible! I look like
I am strangling Ty! I couldn't cheat, though
(darn it)! We had season passes to the San
Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park when the kids
were younger. We went as often as possible.
This photo was taken at the San Diego Wild
Animal Park in 2006. Time flies!

Now, I want to see photos from these 6 people:

I have to add one random thing:
Ty is learning his shapes and he asked
Summer what shape his frog plate is but
it really isn't a shape, so she said, "Maybe a
rectangle?" Ty said, "It's a frogtangle!"
Too cute!!!

Made you Laugh!

Before you look at these, I must explain!
Sydney is in love with her new camera.
She insisted that we all took self portraits
with silly faces. Now, mind you, each person
did this on their own accord....knowing full well
that I blog EVERYTHING! HaHa!
The jokes on you (and me)!
You have never looked prettier, Sydney! How is at that Summer still looks pretty?
Wow! My husband is one lucky man!
Becky, I don't think a pucker counts as
silly! You just look kissable and cute!

Mom, you win! That is scary!!!
Yes, this one is not a self portrait, but
we fell in love with this candy store and
Becky does look pretty silly in this hat!

BTW~these photos were taken over Christmas Break!

Blog Friends are Dangerous!

Have you ever come across a recipe that just
seems too good to be true? That's how I felt
about this Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Recipe!

Summer and I made these after seeing the recipe
on Crafting in Laymon's Terms (the blog). It was
one of those things where you have all the why not!?! Trust me, it was a
great decision! YUM! Thanks for the
delicious recipe, Man & Kat!
(I won't ever admit how many of these I ate)

Pink, pink, & more pink!

Home Tour Time!I am so happy to have a girly girl
daughter who loves pink! Summer is
all about the blues, so luckily Sydney
is pink through and through!

For her birthday this year, we bought her
the beginning pieces for a room transformation.
The polka dots came from LewasDesigns on Etsy.
They came with 2 free birds...
look carefully to find them!

Since we have a southwestern style home,
all our walls are a cream color. We added some
polka dots in that color so we could get away
with leaving the walls and ceiling the same.
The bedding is from The Company Store
and it's my favorite! Summer let us paint
a nightstand she bought for $10 at a yard sale
to match the bed. It is one cozy bed now!
My friend Liz found this adorable desk
at an antique store just outside of Sedona.
I made my parents go check it out with me
while they were visiting this fall. They ended
up buying it for Sydney and the adorable music
chair to go with it. Our little singer can sit
here and do her homework in peace.
Sydney gets to proudly display one of
her treasures that her Great-Grandma Leona
gave her before she passed away. She got a set
of 4 of these pink glasses and it adds the perfect
punch of color to hold her colored pencils.
We hope you enjoyed
your tour of Sydney's

We're keeping the Dr.'s busy!

You may be wondering if we fell off the
face of the earth. Nope. Just the not-so-
normal Dr. visits! As you already know, Maddie
was in the hospital learning to deal with her diabetes.
My other neice, Ellie, fell down the stairs at her house
and ended up with 6 stitches in the middle
of her forehead (see cute little Ellie below).
As for my little family, Ty has been sick for
an entire week....and he landed in the emergency
room Thursday night. We had visited his
Dr. that morning and she gave him a
prescription for Q-dryl (which is a generic
brand of Benedryl). Well, turns out he was VERY
allergic! 4 hrs. in the emergency room and a
good dose of Steroids later, we headed home.
When we got home, I was putting clean sheets
on my bed (at 1:00am) and pulled my back out.
Needless to say, this has been a week I
would rather not repeat! All in all,
everyone is well and learning to deal with
their ailments. Thanks for all of your
sweet well wishes for Maddie. She
is dealing with this amazingly!

Little Maddie!

My sweet little niece Madison
was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes
yesterday. It came as a complete shock
to everyone and she is currently in the
hospital trying to get her levels under control.
She is the sweetest, brightest, and most adorable
little girl. She has amazing parents that will take
this head on and make the best out of it. Please
keep Maddie and her family in your prayers.
Sydney just adores her and was in tears last
night. They are the best of buddies
whenever they are together!
This is a sweet picture of Sadie
and Maddie at the beach this summer.
We know you will be just fine!

New Years Day 2009

While the men watched a full day of
football, we snuck off to the Spectrum
in Irvine, California. They have a huge
ferris wheel and an adorable carousel.
Ty wanted me to take a picture of him when we
reached the top of the ferris wheel. He posed for
this picture. Isn't he adorable!?!
Summer is terrified of them and she had
a stomach ache the whole time. Aunt Becky
tried to cheer her up and enjoy the ride.
We were the brave ones! My mom, Sydney,
and I loved every second of it...even if it was cold!

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom has one of those too close to
Christmas birthdays (4 days after).
This year, she threw
herself a
bowling and pizza party. It was a

huge hit with the whole gang!
What a cute group!
We even went out to our favorite dessert spot,
Yogurtland. The kids always go a bit wild there.
You make your own and pay by the weight.
My mom and I get a reasonable amount. The
kids, on the other hand, go topping crazy!

We all had a great time and celebrated
the best mom, grammy, and wife in the
whole world! WE LOVE YOU GRAMMY!!!

Sea Legs!

Do we look cold? We were! It
was a beautiful day for whale watching.
We went out of Dana Point, California.
Summer looked so cute in her new
hat from Aunt Becky & Uncle Brad!
All she cared about was getting sea
legs. She was disappointed to not
have them after the 2 hr. boat ride.
Sydney stole my new scarf that has built
in mittens. My mom got it for ME for Christmas.
Ty had so much fun watching the sea lions and
feeding the seagulls popcorn. We even made
friends with a pelican (he was a total show-off)!
My mom and Sydney have the rest of
the pictures from our week-long CA
trip. I will post more soon!
